HYDERABAD: Terming the talk of a possible alliance between BJP and TDP as mere speculation, BJP Telangana chief Bandi Sanjay on Sunday claimed the meeting between Union home minister Amit Shah and TDP chief
N Chandrababu Naidu was routine meeting of two leaders.
Speaking to party rank and file during a teleconference, he said “There is nothing wrong in TDP chief meeting our home minister. In the past, PM
Narendra Modi and Amit Shah had met leaders such as
Mamata Banerjee and Nitish Kumar. BJP’s sole intention is developing the country.”
Many leaders during the teleconference had asked Sanjay about speculations over alliances.
Responding to them, Sanjay said: “BJP is not a party such as the BRS which works in silos. BJP leaders meet other leaders and discuss the country’s development. We are not like KCR who sticks to Pragathi Bhavan and does not meet anyone.”
Sanjay also told the cadre that the party is growing in the state and BJP will win the election.
“There is a conspiracy against BJP to bring down our momentum. AIMIM, BRS, Congress and left parties will join forces against BJP in the next election,” he said.
Sources in the party said the Telangana unit did not have a hint of this meeting or any indication of future talks.
Sources said that a major section of the party is of the view that an alliance or alliance talk with TDP can hit the party‘s chances as TDP is seen as an Andhra party in Telangana especially when BJP is attacking BRS for removing Telangana from its name.
