Linda Yaccarino is now officially the chief operating officer of Twitter. Yaccarino, who previously chaired NBCUniversal's advertising sales, was hired by Elon Musk last month to lead the company. She updated bio on her LinkedIn profile as well.
Yaccarino previously said that she was inspired by Musk's vision to create a brighter future.
"I've long been inspired by [Musk's] vision to create a brighter future. I'm excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!" Yaccarino had tweeted.
Yaccarino hires former NBC colleague Just as Yaccarino took the top job at Twitter, her first decision was to bring her former NBC colleague, Joe Benarroch, to build Elon Musk's 'Twitter 2.0'. Benarroch worked with her as executive vice president at NBC Universal.
"Tomorrow, I start a different professional adventure at Twitter, taking on a role focusing on business operations. It’s been an absolute honour being at NBCUniversal, where I’ve been able to work with Linda and our leadership team – to champion and scale our business priorities, create meaningful advocacy, and help build incredible partnerships across this entire industry," he said in a post.
"I am looking forward to bringing my experience to Twitter, and to working with the entire team to build Twitter 2.0 together," Benarroch added.
Musk, who stepped away from the CEO role, will now get more time to focus on his other companies, Tesla and SpaceX. Musk's 'role will transition to being exec chair and CTO, overseeing product, software and sysops'.
Yaccarino faces uphill task Since Musk acquired Twitter, advertisers have fled the platform. Reports suggested they are worried that their ads could appear next to inappropriate content.
Yaccarino will have an uphill task to bring advertising back on the platform. She will also help Musk make Twitter the "everything app," which could offer several services, including payments.
