Mysuru: Minister in-charge for Mysuru district HC Mahadevappa on Sunday hailed the contributions of Avadhoota Datta Peetham seer Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swami.
Speaking on the occasion of the seer’s 80th birthday celebrations, the minister said the religious institution marks the event uniquely as it helps tribal students and extends benefits to the poor and underprivileged classes and differently-abled persons.
He was speaking after handing over mobile service vehicles to Madilu Seva Trust to enable pick-up and drop facility for tribal students to schools in HD Kote taluk, distributing hearing aids and wheelchairs to differently-abled persons on account of the seer’s birthday celebrations at the ashram premises on Ooty Road. Benefits were distributed to over 80 beneficiaries on the occasion.
The minister also lauded the seer for his commitment to protect the environment apart from continuing religious, spiritual promotion activities.
Vijayanandatheertha Swami, junior pontiff of Avadhoota Datta Peetham was also present.
