LUCKNOW: In a bizarre incident, a young man and his newlywed wife were found dead in their sleep on their wedding night in Bahraich district. While the incident happened on May 30, police officials on Saturday said the autopsy reports showed they had both died of cardiac arrest.
The couple identified as Pratap Yadav,24, and Pushpa Yadav, 22, were married on May 30 in Kaiserganj tehsil of Bahraich district.
The newly married couple went to sleep in their room and were found dead the next day. They were cremated on the same pyre in the village. Bahraich superintendent of police Prashant Kumar said, "A team of forensic experts examined the room of the couple and found that the room lacked ventilation. In the absence of any ceiling fan and lack of air circulation, the possibility of a cardiac arrest could not be ruled out."
Kumar also added that there were no signs of forced entry into the room or injury marks on the couple’s body, ruling out the criminal angle. “Viscera of both the bodies have been preserved for further examination at the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Lucknow. We have not received any complaint from the families,” said the SP. Gram Pradhan of Godhiya village in Kaiserganj, Balram Yadav, said that Pratap worked in the village as a labourer, while Pushpa also belonged to the same economic class. The couple had an arranged marriage.
