OPINION:
There’s an old saying falsely attributed to the late British Prime Minister Winston Churchill that may give us hope for the future. The now- anonymous quote goes, “If you’re not a liberal when you’re 25, you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative by the time you’re 35, you have no brain.”
It’s now being reported that nearly half of all millennials vote Republican in presidential elections. It’s likely that percentage will increase as the millennials age. The same will happen with those from Gen Z. Low birth rates and increasing life expectancy indicate the average age of our population will continue to increase. If so, we can expect a hoped-for (albeit gradual) reversal of the insane policies and regulations to which we are currently being subjected by the leftist power elites.
There are of course two problems with this rosy outlook. The first is my suspicion that our open borders are the Democratic Party’s solution to insufficient numbers of native-born youth for leftist indoctrination. The second lies in the great power of the “uniparty” and the “deep state.” If we can’t ensure that our elections are fair, the actual desires of a conservative majority won’t make any difference.
