Apple WWDC 2023 Highlights: Apple introduces a new MacBook Air alongside new operating systems for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Apple also shoed off pricy mixed-reality headgear called the Vision Pro at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, challenging Facebook-owner Meta in the mixed-reality market. The much-awaited headset has been in development at Cupertino-based Apple for years, and will focus on gaming, streaming video and conferencing, as well as health and fitness.

And on that note, Apple CEO Tim Cook concludes the keynote with exciting new announcements and launches as WWDC 2023 kicks off on June 5.
Vision Pro starts at $3499
Apple's new operating system visionOS for Vision ProAt the WWDC 2023, Apple also introduced its new operating system, the visionOS, which focuses on displaying digital elements on in the real world. The new OS will support all the apps that are already available on iPadOS and iOS. The Vision Pro starts at $3499
Vision Pro works on Apple's VisionOS
The Vision Pro, which is powered by M2 and comes with new chip called R1, works on its own operating system, the VisionOS. It will also come with its own App Store.
Vision Pro: Built for every face
The Vision Pro features a glass front and an aluminum frame, containing sensors, cameras, the display, and a computer that Apple says is cooled with a fan. The mixed-reality headset has a strap made of cloth-lined material. Vision Pro flexes easily to fit different face shapes and head sizes. It comes with Zeiss to create a custom optical inserts that magnetically attaches to the lenses of people who wear glasses.
Apple WWDC 2023: TV & Arcade content, right on your headgear
Through Vision Pro, users to uses TV and Arcade content on the headgear including Disney films and shows. It will also let users capture and relive video with the help of a 3D camera while using the the Vision Pro.
Apple WWDC 2023 Live: Bring virtual world to your reality through Vision Pro
Apple uses a system called EyeSigh that features user's eyes on the display of the headset. When the user is in full VR mode, a glowing screen will appear to inform that the user isn't available. Vision Pro works on passthrough video that allows them to see the real world in full colour while letting them project 3D content in their real space. Making re-watching of old videos a deja vu experience in itself.
Apple WWDC 2023: Vision Pro switches between augmented and full virtual reality
The augmented reality headset is perfect for workspace or remote work, Apple says. "It’s the first Apple product you look through, and not at," CEO Tim Cook said as he unveiled the much-awaited product by the tech giant.The headset, which looks like ski googles, is primarily an AR product that switches between augmented and full virtual reality using a dial.

macOS Sonoma
Moving from iOS 17 and iPad OS, Apple announced new macOS Sonoma, its updates operating system for desktop which comes packed with support for widgets which are designed to fade into the background when users open a window.
Apple WWDC 2023: More on iPadOS
iPadOs will now support flexible layouts, offline Maps, PDF AutoFill, Live Stickers in Messages and come with new tools in Freeform. Latest iPadOS will support AirDrop even when out of range and also support Live Activities.
New Game Porting Toolkit
Apple introduces new Game Porting Toolkit for Metal which will make it easier for developers to evaluate how well a game will run on the Mac. macOS now gets 'Game Mode' to ensure gaming doesn't stop by allotting it higher priority on CPU and GPU.
iPad gets personalised lock screen, just like iPhone
Apple announced that iPadOS 17 is getting some of the most loved features from iOS including customisable wallpapers and lockscreen widgets.
Apple WWDC 2023 Live: Widgets are now interactive!
Widgets on the iPhone are finally interactive and will not "gracefully animate". It will allow users to control light directly from the home widget, let the start music. Apple has also invited developers to create interactive widgets.

Apple introduces new app, Journal
"Journaling is a great way to practice gratitude," Apple says. The tech giant says Journal is a private app, on-device processing that comes with end-to-end encryption, and can be locked. "Not even Apple can access it," the company said.
iMessage gets an update
Apple is using new search filters in Messages to narrow results for a smoother chatting experience. The iOS 17 will bring new catch-up arrow to let users start at the first unread message.

WWDC 2023: Apple introduces two new chips
Apple introduces two new chips, M2 Max and its "monster of a chip", M2 Ultra. Apple says M2 Max is 25 per cent faster than M1 Max and easily four times faster than Intel-powered fastest Mac. Meanwhile, the M2 Ultra supports 192 GB of unified memory.
Mac Studio gets an update!
Now Apple moves to Mac Studio, which is getting an update. Apple is introducing M2 Max to Mac Studio which has 25 per cent faster performance than M1 Max, and 50 per cent faster After Effects render.
