ARA: A 27-year-old man died of bullet injuries sustained when some youths opened fire during a dance programme at a wedding ceremony in
Bihar's Bhojpur district on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Dinesh Kumar from Cheta Tola village under Sandesh police station area. He was attending a dance programme in the shamiyana (tent) at a wedding in the village when some uninvited guests, who were being stopped from entering the tent, opened fire.
"My brother sustained a gunshot injury and collapsed. We took him to the Sadar hospital at Ara but he had already succumbed by then," said Ranjit Yadav, brother of the deceased.
"An FIR has been lodged against seven named and some unknown persons. Initial investigations revealed that the accused were from a nearby village and had not been invited to the wedding. They, however, entered the shamiyana to watch the dance programme," Sandesh SHO Awadhesh Kumar said on Saturday.
