HYDERABAD: The body of a man was recovered from a canal at Angadipeta village in Nalgonda district on Saturday. Police identified the victim as identified as 35-year-old Anjaneyulu.
Police said the victim was murdered by his brother-in-law Venkatesh allegedly due to a property dispute in Pedda Adiserla Pally (PA Pally) village.
“Property dispute between the victim and suspect Venkatesh led to the murder,” PA Palli police said. The victim came to accused’s residence to settle the dispute. They both started to consume liquor and during the discussion, a heated argument took place. The accused took a hammer and hit the victim on his head. The victim died on the spot, cops said.
Realising that Anjaneyulu had died, Venkatesh took the help of his wife in disposing the body.
“The body was kept in a bag and later drowned in a local canal,” police said.
On Saturday the couple surrendered before police and confessed to the crime. Officials went to the spot and recovered the dead body.
