Poll officers can’t stay in same post for over 3 yrs: EC

Jaipur: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided that no officer connected directly with the assembly elections shall be allowed to continue in the present district (revenue district) of posting if she/he is posted in her/his home district or if she/he has completed three years in that district during last four years or would be completing three years on or before 31st January, 2024.
The term of Rajasthan assembly will expire on January 14, 2024, a letter to the chief secretary of Rajasthan and the state’s chief electoral officer stated.
“These instructions shall cover not only officers appointed for specific election duties like DEOs (district election officers), Dy. DEOs, RO (returning officers)/AROs, EROs (electoral registration officers)/AEROs, officers appointed as nodal officers of any specific election work but also district officers,” it stated.
