PATNA: More than 59% candidates passed the 2023 special Matric examination conducted by the
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) the results of which were announced here on Saturday.
Announcing the results , BSEB chairman Anand Kishor said that altogether 29% candidates passed the compartmental examination. "Students took the compartmental examination in one or two subjects only," he said.
The chairman claimed that BSEB completed the entire examination cycle of 2023 first of all in the country. "The results of both Intermediate and Matric examinations of 2023 (annual and compartmental) were published well before the commencement of the next academic session. Hence, even students who have passed compartmental or special examinations this year would not lose their academic year as they would be able to secure their admission in next higher classes," Kishor said.
Giving further details of the results the chairman said, altogether, 3,279 candidates had appeared at the special examination of whom 1,954 passed. While, 715 passed in first division, 638 and 377 passed in second and third divisions, respectively.
In the compartmental examination, altogether 68,353 candidates appeared and 19,915 of them were declared successful.
The examinations were held at 139 centres in the state from May 10 to 13. The answer books were evaluated between May 18 and 21.
The chairman said candidates who are not satisfied with the marks awarded to them may apply for scrutiny from June 5 to 11. The applications along with requisite fee may be submitted online on BSEB website.
The first five students who have secured maximum marks in the examination include Akash Kumar (91.2%) from Saran, Aditi Kumari (90.4%) from Begusarai, Rohan Kumar (90.2%) from Banka, Ankit Kumar (89.6%) from Gaya and Nidhi Kumari (89%) from Samastipur.
