PATNA: Muzaffarpur police has launched extensive searches to nab BJP MLA Raju Singh after a court issued a non-bailable warrant against him in a kidnapping-cum-attempt to murder case lodged by RJD leader Tulsi Rai on May 25.
Singh had earlier applied for anticipatory bail in the sessions’ court, but his plea was denied. Muzaffarpur SSP Rakesh Kumar told this newspaper over phone that the police received the warrant against Singh from the court and raids were being conducted on his suspected hideouts. The police teams have been searching him in many districts. The police will take the next step of attaching his properties, if required.
As per the FIR, Tulsi Rai went to a marriage function on May 25 where Raju Singh was also present. Singh and his associates allegedly kidnapped Rai while he was returning from the function.
