New div commissioner’s stress on health, education
Kanpur: Improvement in health services in the district is “top priority” of Lokesh M, who joined as a divisional commissioner of Kanpur.
He has taken charge of Kanpur division from Raj Shekhar, who had been transferred and posted as secretary agriculture. The new divisional commissioner said his first priority was emphasis on the health sector, for which all CHCs and PHCs and health & wellness centres of the division have to provide benefit of quality health services.
He said his second priority was education. “Children not able to go to school should be identified and sent to school. Stress would be on quality education. The teachers would be motivated and various workshops would be organised for the purpose,” he added. The divisional commissioner said the third priority is to keep the city clean and enhance its beauty. “This would be executed in collaboration with the municipal corporation. Apart from it all the problems of the city would be studied and resolved in a phases manner by coordinating the concerned departments,” he said.
Addressing the media, he further said that it is our aim to get 100% implementation of all the public welfare schemes of the government, to provide its benefits to all the eligible people, to solve public problems in a quality and time-bound manner.
