    A massive fire reportedly broke out in the slum areas of Delhi's Jahangirpuri neighborhood on Sunday. According to reports, fire tenders rushed to the site after receiving information about the incident and a dousing operation is ongoing. Numerous visuals of the fire have also surfaced on social media, where enormous billows of dark smoke could be seen from a distance.

    Delhi Fire Service official provides update

    "We received information about a fire in the slums of the Jahangirpuri area; 11-12 fire engines reached the spot. We found that the fire had started in an open area where garbage was lying," Delhi Fire Service Assistant Divisional Officer Rajeev Kumar Sinha said. "The fire is being extinguished, but the cooling process will take time," Sinha added.

    Plastics kept in godown have burnt: Sinha

    Providing further information about the current situation, Sinha said there was a godown of waste materials, where all the plastic material had burnt, adding it will take two hours to get things under complete control. "The plastics kept in the godown have burnt. They take a while to get doused. It will probably take 1-2 hours," the news agency ANI quoted him as saying.

    Fire incident at Maulana Azad Medical College's old boy's hostel

    Earlier in the day, officials said another fire broke out in the national capital at Maulana Azad Medical College's old boy's hostel. "A fire call has been received about the hostel fire in Maulana Azad Medical College on Sunday morning at 6:09am," revealed an official. Thankfully, the fire was extinguished on time before it could spread further, and no injury or causality was reported.
