CNG price slashed by ₹1.5/per kg in Seraikela-Kharsawan district
Jamshedpur: GAIL Gas Limited has slashed the CNG price in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district by Rs 1.50 per kilogram. The move follows the Union government’s recent guidelines to pass on new domestic gas pricing benefits to its customers.
Effective Friday, the new CNG price in the district was fixed at Rs 89.5 per kilogram from the earlier Rs 91 per kilogram, the PSU said in a statement. “This is the second price reduction since April 2023, wherein the total price has been reduced by Rs 7.5 per kg,” Shilpi Tandor, GAIL Gas’s chief manager (corporate communication), said on Thursday.
The GAIL Gas is currently operating 10 CNG filling stations in Adityapur, Kandra, Chowka, Kuchidih, Shankardih, Seraikela, Kanderbera, Asonboni, Rangamati and Tonto in Chaibasa (West Singhbhum). Further, CNG will be available from two more stations — Auto Cluster and Gamhariya Automobiles.
The availability of CNG at cheap rates will not only encourage long-distance journeys on clean fuel but will contribute towards reducing the carbon footprint and improve the quality of life, the company added.
