Ranchi: City’s secondary schools and intermediate colleges are witnessing a rush of students aiming to enroll themselves in Class XI after the announcement of board results recently. Admission forms for various colleges are already available. However, some institutes will start accepting applications only after the summer vacation is over.
Institutions that have started the application process include St Xavier’s College, Gossner College, St Anne's Intermediate College, St John's Inter College, Ursuline Inter College, RTC Inter College and Saint Paul's College among others. Most colleges have initiated the registration process via online and offline modes. Some colleges, including St Paul's College, are offering admission form in offline mode. Application fees for these colleges range from 300 to 1,000.
In St Xavier College, there are 384 seats each in Arts, Science, and Commerce. Each stream at Gossner College has 512 seats. There are 385 seats each in the streams at RTC Inter College.
While most of institutions, including RTC Inter College and Ursuline Inter College will accept admissions based on scores, some including St John's Inter College and St Xavier's Inter College will conduct entrance exams to enroll candidates.
Shusma Pramanik, a student, said: "After the release of the results, we are free to apply for admission to the college of our choice, and we can select a college based on our grades as each institution has a different cut-off score requirement. It is also advantageous for us that colleges open admissions process after the release of the exam results, so students will not worry about the lack of available seats."
