Post dispute, man uses dad-in-law’s phone to dial 112 for bomb hoax call

VARANASI: To teach him a lesson following a dispute, a man used his father-in-law’s phone to dial police helpline and threaten to blow up Azamgarh railway station.
The accused, Ejaj Ahmed took his father-in-law Mohammad Farooq’s phone and dialled 112 at 4.30am on Friday and threatened to blow up Azamgarh railway station. Heavy police force along with bomb disposal and dog squads were rushed to the railway station for a massive checking drive. The accused was later arrested. SP Azamgarh Anurag Arya said the police started efforts to search the caller and caught Farooq from his residence in Bhairopur.
During investigation, it came to light that Farooq had a dispute with his son-in-law Ezaz who used his phone to make the threat call. Ezaz had come to Farooq’s place and stayed at night, said Arya adding, to teach a lesson to his father-in-law Ezaz deliberately made a threat call by Farooq’s phone and left at 5 am. Arya said that Ezaz had been caught and was being interrogated by police.
