Mandya doctor found hanging near lake

Mandya: A doctor attached to a private hospital in Mandya has allegedly died by suicide at Kuduragundi village in Maddur on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Dr Venugopal, 57. His body was found hanging near a lake at the village, according to police.
In his complaint to Maddur Police, Dr Nanda, brother-in-law of the deceased, has stated that Dr Venugopal was dejected after his sister Gayathri’s death. Dr Venugopal had visited Kudaragundi on Thursday to attend the death anniversary of Gayathri.
Speaking to TOI, Mandya superintendent of police Yatish said they suspect it to be a case of suicide. We have registered a case at Maddur police station, he stated. tnn
