Bizman booked for cheating woman

COIMBATORE: The Perur all-woman police registered a case against a businessman on Thursday for cheating a woman of 25 lakh.
The 37-year-old unmarried woman, a resident of Coimbatore city, befriended the 42-year-old Vadavalli resident in 2019, police sources said. “The businessman told her that he was a divorcee and sexually assaulted her several times by promising to marry her. He pocketed 25 lakh from her for business development and failed to return it. When she demanded the money, he threatened her with dire consequences,” a police officer said. tnn
