VADODARA: A 27-year-old man from Ahmedabad committed suicide by consuming poison at a hotel in Sayajigunj area. The hotel management learnt about it on Friday when stench emanated from the room in which Parth Gadhiya had checked in on May 31. The police have contacted his family.
According to police, Gadhiya wasn't seen much by anyone after he had checked in, but on Friday the hotel staff complained of stench emanating from his room. They opened the door and found Gadhiya dead. Police said that he left a suicide note stating that no one was responsible for his extreme step.
In his note, Gadhiya said that he didn't want to do jobs in private companies and was depressed. He also stated that he had quit his job a few months ago but didn't tell anyone about this in his family. Gadhiya had worked in different banks, said police.
"He had decided to end his life and with that intention had to Vadodara. Gadhiya parked his bike in the parking lot of Gita Mandir and even told the security guard that his father will come to collect the vehicle," said M M Divan, inspector of Sayajigunj police station.
Gadhiya said in the note that he booked the hotel room in Vadodara as he wouldn't get room in Ahmedabad as he was a local resident. Gadhiya also wrote that he thought of ending his life by jumping off a building or causing a road accident but then he decided to consume poison.
"Gadhiya had kept the poison bottle in a packet so that no one would get suspicious,'' Divan told TOI.
