Subsidy for motor pumps

Coimbatore: The state government’s agriculture engineering department is extending assistance to farmers to set up electrical motor pumps to draw water from wells for agricultural purposes.
An official from the department said the government will give 50% subsidy for procuring the pump or 15,000 for farmers who own less than five acres of land, to purchase electrical pumps up to 10 HP. Farmers can make use of this opportunity to replace their old or defunct electrical pumps. The state government is offering the scheme to assist farmers in accessing water which will in turn result in high farm productivity.
