Ranchi: At a time when some private English-medium schools have stopped accepting applications for admissions to Class XI for the upcoming academic session, many said they would enrol students till mid-June to fill the vacant seats available.
Admission to schools like Jawahar Vidya Mandir (Shyamali), Delhi Public School, Kairali School, Bridgeford School and Sarala Birla Public School have been closed. But others, including DAV Public School, Bariatu, Tender Heart Senior Secondary School, Sapphire International School, DAV Alok Public School, Firayalal Public School, Oxford Public School and Gurunanak Higher Secondary School, are still accepting applications.
Talking to TOI, the principal of the Bridgeford School, Seema Chitlangia, said, “The admission process will continue till the vacant seats are filled. Many students also opt for provisional admission to secure the seats.”
Meanwhile, some institutions have increased the sections of classes to increase student intake. Among them are DAV Alok and Gurunanak schools.
The principal of the DAV Alok Public School,
Ashok Kumar, said, “We have increased the number of sections for both commerce and science streams. The sections would cater to the students who have passed out from the schools affiliated to the state boards. The language of instruction will be Hindi. ”
Sudhanshu Bhardwaj, a student of SR DAV Public School, said, “I was waiting for the results so that I could apply in colleges based on my score. I didn't want to take the entrance exam.”
Anjani Mishra, a parent, said, “To secure a seat in the desired school, I applied to the school for my ward in the initial phase of admissions.”
