Bhubaneswar: Officials and the agency constructing the Baramunda Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) here on Thursday were asked to complete the work by July-end this year. So far, 85 percent of the work has been finished. 5T secretary V K Pandian visited Baramunda on Thursday afternoon to review the construction work of ISBT. Baramunda ISBT is the biggest bus stand of the state. The state is claiming to make it a world-class transit system.
It will have all modern facilities and 2,000 buses can be run from the ISBT every day. This terminal is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 180 crore on an 11 acre of land. For future expansion of the ISBT, four acres of land are left.
The ISBT will have a food court, excavator, elevator, multi-storied car parking facility, pickup and drop-off facilities for passengers, prepaid auto rickshaw, taxi and aggregated cab services. The whole terminal will be run by solar power. Apart from Aahar centre and Wi-Fi facility, an effluent treatment facility will be available here. tnn
