Man threatens to make woman’s nude videos viral, held

Surat: A man was arrested by police for threatening to circulate on social media the nude videos of a woman. He had also threatened to kill the family members of the woman. The accused was identified as Kiran Patil.
According to the case details, the complainant stays in Dindoli area with his wife, brother, sister-in-law and other family members. Earlier, he was living in Limbayat area where the family had given the upper floor of the house on rent to Patil. After Patil came to stay there, he developed an affair with the complainant’s sister-in-law.
When the family came to know about this, they asked Patil to vacate the house. After that, Patil came to their home and threatened to kill the complainant’s brother. He continued visiting the street after which the family filed a complaint at Limbayat police station. But as the harassment did not stop, they left the area and took a house on rent in Dindoli.
About 15 days ago, the complainant got four videos from an unknown number. When he watched the videos, he saw his sister-in-law in nude condition and chatting with Patil. After some time, Patil called him and threatened that if he did not make him talk to his sister-in-law, he would circulate the nude videos on social media.
When Patil did not stop threatening and harassing the family, the complainant approached Dindoli police station. Police booked Patil under relevant sections of IPC and IT Act. Patil was arrested on Thursday.
