Two injured at Mungul

Colva: Two persons had a narrow escape on Friday when a vehicle barrier at the Mungul underpass collapsed after it was hit by an earthmoving machine.
The excavator engaged by the contractor of the Western Bypass project was travelling Mungul to Colva. The arm of the excavator accidently hit the barrier. The barrier came crashing down on Gabby Dias and Pascoal Gomes who were under it.
However, they escaped with minor injuries. tnn
Fatorda police informed that the excavator driver accepted his negligence and has promised to compensate the victim as well as pay for the expenses of re-fabricating the height barrier hence no offence has been registered
