NOIDA: A 45-year-old rickshaw puller died after a wall in the Uflex compound in Sector 60 collapsed on him on Thursday evening.
Police identified the deceased as Sudev Sarkar, a native of West Bengal. Cops said that Sarkar worked as a rickshaw puller in the city.
"We received information about the wall collapse incident around 4 pm, and a police team rushed to the spot and took the injured man to the hospital, where he was declared 'brought dead' on arrival," said Sanjay Singh, in charge of the Sector 58 police station.
"Sarkar had stopped to rest near the company premises and was sleeping when the wall collapsed on him. We have informed his family members about the incident," Singh said.
Police said they have not received any complaint in the matter so far.
A source told TOI that the wall was quite old and on the verge of collapse.
According to police, further investigation is currently underway.
The Uflex website says it is a flexible packaging materials and solutions company.
