Man, woman found hanging from tree in Mahisagar dist

Vadodara: A young woman and a man were found hanging from a mango tree in Vavyo village of Khanpur taluka in Mahisagar district on Thursday. While the police have started investigations, primary information hints at suicide pact.
The bodies of Sejal Malivad and Vikram Pagi were spotted hanging from a tree near a canal on the outskirts of the Vavyo village.

Villagers informed the police that came to the spot and brought the bodies down and sent them for a postmortem.
Bakor police station registered an offence of unnatural death and started investigations. Bakor police sub-inspector K C Sisodiya said that the young woman, who used to stay with her maternal uncle, had got married recently on May 18. She had come to visit her uncle’s family.
Sources said that the families of the deceased were tight-lipped regarding the incident and were unwilling to divulge any sort of details to the police.
Even as the possible reasons for the incident has not been disclosed, the police did not rule out a possibility of a failed love affair behind the suicide pact.
