Kanpur: MSME & export promotion department, khadi gramodyog minister Rakesh Sachan inaugurated the entrepreneur registration campaign launched by the state government for MSME units, here at IIA building in Panki, on Thursday. The minister also distributed certificates to nine entrepreneurs who had registered at the help desk and disbursed letters of comfort from the first private sector flatted factory sanctioned by the government to Himanshu Jain, CEO and Gopi Kishan Gupta, director of M/s Siya Metals Pvt Ltd.
As per record, around 90 lakhs MSME units are working in the state but their registration on portal is very low though they have made direct and indirect contribution to GDP. It may be recalled that several MSME units are spread out in the unorganised sector, which could enjoy facilities and benefits of government schemes once they have registered. Around 300 entrepreneurs were present on the occasion.
Joint director of industries UP Sarveshwar Shukla apprised the guests about the campaign, while Sachan apprised about the benefits of registration. The minister also spoke about the export promotion department’s schemes and about the achievements of the state government. He said in the Global Investors summit, around Rs 35 lakh crore worth pacts were inked.
