Speeding car hits students

Mangaluru: Several students from SSPU College sustained injuries after they were hit by a speeding car at Malligemajalu near Subrahmanya.
The accident took place when the students were walking on the left side of the road, after leaving the college around 3.45 pm on Thursday.
Minor injuries
Among the students, Sinchana hurt her teeth, and Hanishka and Bimbika sustained serious injuries on their legs, and a few others sustained minor injuries.
Bhavani Shankar, who runs a hotel, stated that the white car was coming from the Kumaradhara side. The driver of the car, identified as Sanjeeva Gowda, was allegedly driving rashly, and came to the extreme left and hit the students. The complainant along with his brothers, rushed to help the injured. The injured students were rushed to a hospital in a private vehicle and an ambulance. A case has been registered at the Subrahmanya police station.
