HYDERABAD: Rachakonda police on Thursday nabbed two persons, who were part of a six-member gang allegedly involved in peddling and transporting ganja from
Andhra Pradesh to
Maharashtra, on Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Peddamberpet.
Rachakonda police commissioner DS Chauhan said Mohammed Babumiya Shaik and Shaik Ajaz Sikinder, both from Beed district of Maharashtra, were arrested and 450-kg ganja, which was being transported in a SUV, was seized from their possession. Four accused — Satish Jadav, Subash Jadav and Babu Kale from Osmanabad in Maharashtra and Dhanu of Rampachodavaram in AP — were at large.
“Babumiya used to purchase ganja from Dhanu by paying 2,000 per kg. Later, they used to sell ganja to interested customers for 20,000 per kg,’’ Chauhan said.
