Hypersonic BrahMos missile in the future? BrahMos CEO explains

BrahMos Aerospace – the India-Russia Joint Venture commemorated ‘25 Supersonic Years of Success’.The aim of the partnership was to develop the world’s only supersonic cruise missile system. Now, BrahMos Aerospace CEO Atul Dinkar Rane has revealed the timeline decided for the BrahMos hypersonic version. The first successful launch of BrahMos took place in 2001 from the land-based launcher at Chandipur coast in Odisha. India’s most lethal air-combat asset, the BrahMos supersonic missile has galvanized the way of precision firepower. BrahMos is a two-stage missile with a speed of approximately 3 Mach in cruise phase . It has a flight range of 290 km with supersonic speed all through the flight. BrahMos operates on the ‘Fire and Forget Principle’ adopting varieties of flights on its way to target. In February BrahMos officials told it will take eight years to develop it after approval from the government. Because of its lethal capabilities, now BrahMos is set to roar outside India as well.
