Trader ‘seizes’ goods over unpaid dues
Surat: Over non-payment of dues worth Rs20 lakh, a trader unlawfully carts 4,200 saris, 3,000 embroidery lace, 800 piece of other textile along with laptop and printer all worth Rs 24 lakhs from the borrower’s firm.
In his complaint filed Salabatpura police, textile trader Ashish Tandel said that trader Nikunj Kachhadiya, a resident of Valak carted the goods along with another person Kamlesh from Tandel’s firm Sidhhi Vinayak Enterprises.
According to case details, Tandel bought laces from Kacchadiya for which he was yet to pay him Rs 3.5 lakh. Tandel was also not able to pay Rs 20 lakh to Kacchadiya’s uncle Praful owing to loss in business.
On May 26, when Tandel was at home, his employee Pavan Verma called him urgently asking him to come to his firm as Nikunj has come with one more person in a tempo to cart the goods. Tandel called Kacchadiya and asked him not to take the goods till he reached the place.
However, till Tandel reached the shop, Kacchadiya already loaded his tempo with the goods worth Rs 24 lakh. When the employee tried to stop them, Kamlesh allegedly threatened him of life.
Police filed a complaint under IPC 384, 504, 506 (2) and 114 against Kacchadiya and Kamlesh for illegal attachment of property.
