13 B Pharm students jailed

Ranchi: The 13 Bachelor of Pharmastudents were sent to jail on Thursday for their alleged involvement in violence at the examination centre on the YBN University campus on Wednesday evening.
Assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Mumal Rajpurohit said based on scrutiny of the footages captured by the closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs), the students were accused of damaging properties and assaulting officials posted on duty. Medical examinations of the injured personnel have been done, she added.
The students had staged a violent protest, alleging that the officials were allowing a selected number of students to cheat by allotting them separate rooms on the ground floor during the examination.
The university stated that the special arrangement was made for pregnant and physically challenged examinees.
