Multi-level parking proposal at Moti Park re-evaluated
Prayagraj: To address the problem of regular traffic jams in the old city area, industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ along with chief town planner, UP government, Anoop Srivastava on Thursday re-evaluated the proposed multilevel parking at Moti Park, Bahadurganj. The proposed parking lot opposite Laxman Market was suggested by outgoing mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi to the state government. However, the proposal was cancelled twice citing technical deficiencies.
However, chief town planner re-evaluated the site thoroughly and found the rationale for the construction of the proposed parking system to be correct considering the geographical location of the old city, the ever-increasing pressure of vehicles and the problem of traffic jam. In view of the daily jams as well as considering the influx of visitors during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the suggestion of parking arrangement at Moti Park was justified. He also inspected Chowk, Zero Road, Muthiganj and Bahadurganj areas to check the possibilities of parking lots.
The minister along with chief town planner also visited and inspected the ancient Manokamanapurti temple circuit, Shiv Temple circuit, Ram Bhavan Square to Chandralok Square, Mansarovar Square,Sulaki Square.
