Vadodara: Her father Shailesh Kahar drives autorickshaw on rent. But this hasn’t deterred Urvashi Kahar from dreaming big. Urvashi, a student of Maharani Kanya Vidyalaya, scored 98.41 percentile by bagging 644 out of 750 marks on Wednesday. She wants to become an IAS officer and has already started preparing for it.
Urvashi achieved this feat despite financial constraints and a medical emergency at home. “My father was diagnosed with brain tuberculosis in August last year. He could not work. My studies got hampered for 2-3 months because of this medical emergency at home. But once he resumed work, I too started preparing and within two months was ready for the board exams,” said Urvashi.
“All throughout my studies, my parents, our family relatives, my tutors and teachers have immensely supported me,” said Urvashi, the eldest daughter in the family. Her younger sister is in class 10 in the same school where Urvashi studied while her younger brother is in class 4.
