Continental Tire Main Event, set to feature Xavier, adds St. Mary's Gaels, per report

The 2023 Continental Tire Main Event, expected to feature the Xavier University Musketeers, San Diego State Aztecs and Washington Huskies, is adding the Saint Mary's College of California Gaels as a fourth headliner, according to a report Wednesday via Twitter from Jon Rothstein for collegehoopstoday.com.
The event's official website says it is scheduled for Nov. 17-19 at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena. The Muskies reportedly are scheduled to open the season against Robert Morris less than two weeks earlier.
Rothstein reported that St. Mary's will not play in the 2023 Diamond Head Classic as previously scheduled.
The Gaels, a No. 5 seed in the NCAA tournament, finished last season 27-8 and lost to XU's Big East rival, UConn, in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
SDSU, also a fifth seed in the NCAA tournament, finished last season 32-7, falling to UConn in the championship game in Houston. Washington finished last season with a 16-16 record, 8-12 in the Pac-12.
Xavier played in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational in 2017, losing to Arizona State in the championship game.
