Driver killed after truck falls off Ring Road flyover
Jaipur: A 35-year-old driver died after a multi-axle truck careened off a flyover on the Ring Road and plummeted 20 feet below, under the jurisdiction of Shivdaspura police station, early Wednesday morning.
According to SHO Shivdaspura O P Matwaa, the victim was identified as Satyendra Kumar, a resident of Bihar. The incident occurred shortly after 5am, he said.
The truck, which was transporting floor chips, was en route to Kanota from Ajmer Road near Prahaladpura village when it veered off the flyover and fell.
Police mentioned that the truck was loaded with several sacks of white-colored chips, and the driver's body was buried under the heap of sacks.
Following a difficult operation, emergency responders managed to locate the victim's body, which was later transferred to the mortuary of a private hospital for post-mortem. Law enforcement officials have already contacted the victim's family members and requested their presence in the city.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident to determine the exact sequence of events leading to this tragic incident. A team from the traffic police has inspected the accident site. Sources revealed that statements from witnesses and an analysis of the accident site will be crucial in determining the cause.
