Jammu and Kashmir Police on May 31 busted an inter-state narcotics peddling racket and arrested two Punjab-based smugglers along with contraband of 22 kg heroin in Rajouri district. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rajouri, Amritpal Singh on June 01 said, “Last evening we got information that some people are going to Punjab with some drugs from here. Following this, blockades were set up at various places. In this sequence, a vehicle was stopped near ITI in Sunderbani, from which about 22 kg of heroin was recovered. Two people have been arrested in this and both are residents of Gurdaspur in Punjab. These people were carrying heroin from Poonch. Further investigation is on in the matter”
