Varanasi: The newly formed DQAC (department of quality assurance cell) society at the department of English,
Banaras Hindu University was inaugurated on Tuesday. The society is headed by prof Anita Singh and co-ordinated by prof Mithilesh Kumar Pandey.
According to the
BHU spokesperson, the society aims to bridge the gap between real world and academic engagements of the students and researchers where they can give full freedom to their creative and imaginative talents in meaningful ways. It will give an opportunity to promote their social as well as intellectual skills by providing an avenue for self-expression and engage in diverse extracurricular activities. The society aims to involve in activities of various kinds by conducting regular meetings, lectures, workshops, screenings, performances, competitions. The range of activities include debates, author talks, acting skills, classical dance and singing performances and film screenings.
The society looks forward to bring literary scholars together under one platform where they can further explore their interests in reading and writing literature apart from their curriculum.
