UCPMA emphasises adoption of modern manufacturing techniques for global quality standards

Ludhiana, June 1 (KNN) United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers’ Association (UCPMA) general secretary Manjinder Singh Sachdeva on Wednesday said that the adaptation to modern manufacturing techniques is necessary to make our products at par with the global quality standards.
During a session organised to raise awareness regarding the standardisation of bicycle frames, forks and mudguards, and to increase their quality standards, Sachdeva said that it is necessary that we upgrade our units timely to keep ourselves align with the global industry.
The session was organised by Research and Development Centre for Bicycle and Sewing Machine (R&DC-BSM), in association with United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers’ Association (UCPMA) and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
During the sessions, Inputs were also sought from the industrialists and experts, to ensure these new standards met the highest quality requirements.
Rakesh Pathak, general manager of the R&DC-BSM said, “Inputs received from the industry will help us refine and finalise the quality standards to meet the needs and expectations of the customers. This collaborative environment will foster learning and promote industry-wide growth.”
FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular, said, “The active participation of the stakeholders in this evaluation process is crucial to ensure that the finalised standards are robust, practical, and reflective of our expertise.” (KNN Bureau)
