Twins testify against dad for killing mom

Kanpur: A 35-year-old man killed his wife in front of their seven-year old twin sons in Mahoba district on Tuesday night. Police found that Kamlesh Kumar attacked his wife Anita (27) with an axe on the terrace of their house while she was sleeping. Kamlesh rolled the body in a bedsheet and fled.
Police said Jyoraiya village resident Kamlesh, is a daily-wager. As per police sources, the body was noticed around 6 am on Wednesday and locals called the police.
There were deep wounds on the head and chest. When police asked the children, they said their father had killed her and fled in the night. It was found during probe that Anita had a dispute with Kamlesh over going for a wedding at her maternal home.
“We have registered a case against Kamlesh and launched a search for him,” police said.
Mahoba’s Shrinagar police station in charge Ganesh Kumar said, “Six months ago, Kamlesh’s father died due to illness, while Kamlesh met with an accident four months ago, which affected his mind.”
