Seed and Food Fest from June 3

Mysuru: Sahaja Samrudha, a farmers’ organisation, and Swissaid and Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL will organise a two-day Seed and Food Festival at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry from June 3. The festival includes a display of traditional rice, millet, vegetable, fruit and forest seeds. Twenty seed saver groups are participating, and over 250 varieties of different vegetables, rice and millet seeds will be sold. There will also be exchange of seeds, and the event serves as a platform for farmers to collect, store and share their native varieties of crops. The highlight are organic seed production workshop and seed swap events on June 4.
