Berhampur: A damaged underground water supply pipe near MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, which was leading to flooding on the road for the past several days, has been replaced by the engineers of Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO). “We have replaced the old and damaged 10-metre pipe with a new one,” said Biswabandhu Panigrahy, general manager, WATCO. He said their staff took three days to replace the pipe and for internal connection to repair the leakage and to streamline water supply
He said they have instructed Jal Sathis, who monitor water supply in their respective areas, to intimate immediately if they find any leakage for early resolution of the problem. “As many as 61 Jal Sathis are engaged in the city. As soon as we receive complaints, our staff rush to the spot and try to resolve the problem,” he added.
