Hearing adjourned in case against CM’s OSD
Jaipur: The Delhi high court on Wednesday adjourned to August 9 the hearing in the phone-tapping case against Lokesh Sharma, officer on special duty (OSD) to chief minister Ashok Gehlot, and continued the protection granted to him from coercive action by the Delhi police.
Sharma’s lawyer argued in court that the FIR in the case was registered in Delhi on a complaint by union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, even though an investigation of the matter was already underway in Rajasthan. Sharma urged the Delhi HC to quash the FIR registered in Delhi against him.
Opposing this argument, additional solicitor general (ASG) Sanjay Jain said that the allegations were of illegal phone tapping and the accused was not cooperating with the investigation.
“We sent a letter (41-A notice) to the police officer to give details regarding the phone tapping, but manipulation happened there and the address was changed. Such incidents are happening, therefore urgent hearing is necessary in the matter,” demanded Jain.
