KMC centre to allow fast redressal of citizens’ issues
Kanpur: As many as 20 counters (zone-wise ) will assist citizens in redressal of their civic problems at the Citizen Facilitation centre being developed at the Kanpur Municipal Corporation headquarters, here at Moti Jheel.
The citizen facilitation center will provide various types of services related to the municipal corporation such as obtaining birth certificate, death certificate, mutation, non-functional or absence of street lights, etc at one place. The citizens will have to first visit the facilitation center and get a token number from a machine as per their requirement, query or problem. Thereafter, they may go to the counter concerned and get themselves registered.
After registration, a slip bearing a QR code will be provided, through which the status of disposal of services can be tracked. At the same time, a mobile application is being developed on which citizens may register and avail of various services.
District magistrate Vishakh G Iyer on Wednesday visited the facilitation centre and gave directions to the municipal corporation officials.
He asked them to ensure redressal of each service/ problem be made in a time-bound manner and a deadline be fixed. The municipal commissioner would ensure complaints received through the facilitation centre be examined by a software prepared for the receipt and processing that will not only examine all types of records but also dispatch reports on disposal of complaint.
The officials informed him that in cases in which certificates/permits etc were to be issued, a separate collection counter was being prepared.
