Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:19AM

Future Consumer(up 5.00%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 1.98%), Marico(up 1.83%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.77%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.77%), Adani Wilmar(up 1.52%), Gillette India(up 1.36%), Parag Milk(up 1.26%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.24%) and Nakoda Group(up 1.15%) were among the top gainers.

Dangee Dums(down 2.17%), Heritage Foods(down 1.99%), Vadilal Industries(down 1.41%), Umang Dairies(down 1.15%), Britannia Industries(down 0.91%), Sheetal Cool Products(down 0.86%), Patanjali Foods(down 0.72%), ADF Foods(down 0.38%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.28%) and Dodla Dairy(down 0.20%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 20.85 points up at 18555.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 42.97 points at 62665.21 at around 10:19AM.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 3.93%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.88%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.77%), Asian Paints(up 1.66%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.59%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.35%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.21%), Eicher Motors(up 1.09%), Axis Bank(up 1.05%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Coal India(down 4.41%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 3.72%), Bharti Airtel(down 2.33%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.4%), Britannia Industries(down 0.91%), SBI Life(down 0.74%), UPL Ltd(down 0.69%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.68%), ITC(down 0.62%) and Tata Motors(down 0.49%) were trading in the red.
