PANAJI: Directorate of transport in Goa on Thursday issued a total of 422 e-chalans to traffic rule violators through the Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled smart signal system that is being implemented from June 1.
Of these, 315 violations were of non-wearing of seatbelts alone while 95 were for helmetless riding. Seven e-chalans were issued to motorists overloading two-wheeler vehicles and five motorists were levied fines for using a phone while driving.
