Ludhiana: A vigilant Daba resident got two fraudsters, including a woman, posing as CBI officers arrested. The imposters had gone to Daba area with a forged arrest warrant of a man, who at present is abroad. The fraudsters met his relative, who found the duo suspicious, and called the cops.
The police, on reaching the spot, checked the ID cards of the duo and found the warrant to be forged, after which the accused were arrested. The arrested accused are Kanta Rani and Gopal of Jaipur.
ACP (industrial area-B) Sandeep Vadhera said, “The accused reached a house in Daba posing as CBI officers. They had produced arrest warrant of a man named Bahadur Singh of Basant Nagar, Daba. Bahadur has gone abroad and his relative Satwinder Singh attended the duo. The duo claimed that Bahadur is wanted in a murder case, and they have his arrest warrants. Satwinder found them suspicious and called the police, while serving them tea to make them comfortable.” The ACP added the initial probe found that the accused are part of a Jaipur-based racket involved in duping people. tnn
