1,000 Army personnel to take part in Pallavaram lake cleaning programme

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu chapter of the NCC United and Disciplined Alumni Association (UDAAN), a nationwide NCC cadets’ alumni network, will clean the Pallavaram lake on June 4 and 5, on the occasion of the World Environment Day. The participants in the lake cleaning initiative will include 1,000 Army personnel.
The NCC UDAAN TN chapter in collaboration with the Army, NCC and Exnora is on a mission to create awareness on restoring and cleaning waterbodies through conservation activities. The Pallavaram lake has been adopted as the first in a series of this sustainable support initiative called ‘Namma Eri Namma Panpaadu’ programme.
