Positive Signs As Multiple Insiders Buy Gooch & Housego Stock \

Generally, when a single insider buys stock, it is usually not a big deal. However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of Gooch & Housego PLC (LON:GHH), it sends a favourable message to the company's shareholders.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Gooch & Housego Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Non-Executive Chairman Gary Bullard for UK£61k worth of shares, at about UK£4.05 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of UK£5.60. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.
Gooch & Housego insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. Their average price was about UK£5.03. It is certainly positive to see that insiders have invested their own money in the company. But we must note that the investments were made at well below today's share price.
