Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:35AM

Inox wind(up 7.68%), Inox Wind Energy(up 6.84%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.82%), Indowind Energy(up 4.59%), JSW Energy(up 4.31%), NHPC(up 3.03%), Voltamp Transformers(up 2.46%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.79%), KPI Green Energy(up 1.27%) and Energy Development Company(up 0.91%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Transmissions(down 3.49%), DPSC(down 2.62%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.39%), Alstom T&D India(down 2.39%), PTC India(down 1.68%), RTNPOWER(down 1.59%), Adani Power(down 1.46%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.10%), Karma Energy(down 1.03%) and Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(down 0.91%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 34.4 points up at 18633.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 82.61 points at 62928.99 at around 10:35AM.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.1%), JSW Steel(up 1.67%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.54%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.09%), HCL Technologies(up 0.95%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.78%), Britannia Industries(up 0.65%), NTPC(up 0.65%), Grasim Industries(up 0.62%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 0.6%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.97%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.89%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.67%), SBI Life(down 0.66%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.65%), Nestle India(down 0.65%), UPL Ltd(down 0.57%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.54%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.48%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.47%) were trading in the red.
